Kate Danyu Chen (b. Beijing 1994) is a Chinese-American artist and architect based in Berlin, Germany.
Her artistic practice focuses on material and theoretical concepts of space. In particular, she is interested in constructs of perception (visual / kinesthetic) in relation to questions of agency and body-politics. She incorporates media of image, light, installation, video, and text.
Kate received her Architecture Diploma from Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art, & Planning. She has worked at Cornell University, Storefront for Art & Architecture, and (currently) Studio Olafur Eliasson.
Recently, her concepts explore intersections between technology and human, especially through devices / tools which mediate visual and spatial perception.
